This collection consists of a memoir written by Rhoda Love entitled “My Life in Botany”. It is an outline of her career in biology and botany with an emphasis on the years living in Oregon and her teaching career at Lane Community College.

Biographical Note
Rhoda Love was born in Seattle in 1932. She studied botany at the University of Washington where she received her BS in biology (1955) and MS in botany (1959). She made a career switch to environmental science and received a PhD in biology/ecology (1980) from the University of Oregon.
Love began teaching biology in the Science Department at Lane Community College in 1966 and was instrumental in establishing the botany program and the herbarium at LCC. She taught at LCC from 1966 to 1975 and 1986 to 1995. She was active in the Native Plant Society and the Mt. Pisgah Wild Flower Show, and has written biographies and other articles about botanists.
In 2004, the LCC Rowe-Love Herbarium was dedicated and named in honor of Freeman Rowe and Rhoda Love. She is married to Glen Love and they have two children, Stanley Glen born in 1965 and Jennifer Mary in 1969.
